A Wrinkle in Time

Director
Ava Duvernay
Certificate
PG
Running Time
109 mins

A Disney adaptation of god-bothery children’s author Madeleine L’Engle‘s C.S. Lewis-esque 1962 science fantasy novel, which was previously filmed as a TV movie back in 2003.

It’s the story of teenager Meg Murry (Storm Reid), who sets out to save her astophysicist father after a time travel experiment results in him winding up on a distant planet. In this endeavour, she’s assisted by helpful astral travellers Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Who (Mindy Kalling) and Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon). The director is Ava DuVernay, of Selma fame, who achives the distinction of being the first black woman to be entrusted with a $100m live-action movie.
