After The LEGO Batman Movie, this second spin-off from the entertaining toy advertisement that was The LEGO Movie faces a tougher challenge at the box office. That’s because nobody apart from LEGO obsessives has heard of the sub-franchise on which it’s based.
So allow us to enlighten you. The plot has a sextet of ordinary teens in the land of Ninjago trained as ninjas to protect their city from ‘orrible monsters sent by Lord Garmadon (Justin Theroux), the baddest of all bad guys. Rather embarrassingly, he just happens to be the father of one of the teens – Master Builder Lloyd Garmadon (Dave Franco), aka the Green Ninja.
