National Theatre Live: Peter Pan

Certificate
PG
Running Time
152 mins

Sally Cookson, who directed the NT’s Jane Eyre, returns to unleash an imaginative take on the J.M. Barrie yarn (y’know, the boy who didn’t grow up, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, etc). This is a co-production with the Bristol Old Vic, where it was first staged back in 2012.

“Although the keynote of this production is spirited exuberance, it is true to Barrie’s melancholy point that you either remain trapped in permanent adolescence like Peter or mature into a conformist adulthood,” enthused The Grauniad in a four-star review. This isn’t a live broadcast, but was recorded at the National Theatre earlier this year.
