Retired psychiatric nurse Dave (Dave Johns, from I, Daniel Blake) falls for divorcee Fern (Alison Steadman) while walking thier repsective pooches on Hampstead Heath.

From that one-liner, you already know whether Wondrous Oblivion director Paul Morrison‘s new comedy-drama is for you. ‘Warm’, ‘kindly’, ‘sweet’ and ‘gentle’ are the descriptions used by its champions. Among the nay-sayers was the Daily Telegraph, whose readers are likely to be among the target audience. “One positive thing to be said for 23 Walks is the first 13 walks are quite good,” sniffed their reviewer.
