Pop’s scariest 69-year-old granny gets the admiring rockumentary treatment from Sophie Fiennes, who eschews convention by avoiding talking heads and – perhaps disappointingly for fans – archive footage of Jones in her statuesque prime.
Instead, they get a run-through of the hits during a specially staged show in a Dublin theatre, interspersed with fly-on-the-wall footage shot over an unspecified recent period. It’s all highly entertaining – especially when Jones goes full diva – but is rather short on any real insight into her personal life.
