Bristol ceramicist Roger Owen is the tenth maker to feature in Potters’ bi-monthly exhibitions by established and emerging invited guest makers from across the UK.
Originally from North Pembrokeshire, Roger has lived and worked in Bristol since the late 1970s. His creative work has developed through a multi-disciplinary approach centered on drawing and print, but often realised through ceramic media. Projects develop from a variety of personal enthusiasms, are original and show a high sense of craftsmanship. He has a particular interest in the primal act of mark-making, in Eastern art and calligraphic brushwork.
Roger will be showing a selection of chargers that emphasise the qualities that he chooses to capture. He currently has a workshop at Maze Studios, Barton Hill. He is also actively involved in teaching drawing and 3D practice in schools, and in further and higher education in the South West of England. Work is sold via gallery and commission.
Potters is open Mon-Sat, 10.15am-5.30pm. For more info, visit www.pottersbristol.com
