New project celebrates achievements of young people of colour

By Safiya Bashir  Monday Sep 20, 2021

Nominations are now open for the ‘Hall of Magnificence’, a new project that celebrates and honours young people of colour across Bristol.

Project Zazi is run by the mental health social movement Off the Record Bristol, which works with young people of colour, supporting them in exploring culture and identity and tackling issues of inequality and oppression.

Zazi wants to nominate 25 young people of colour this October as part of the ‘Hall of Magnificance’, which will be launched in October as part of Black History Month.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate young people of colour who are delivering their magnificence to those around them and inspiring the next generation of change-makers,” said Lewis Wedlock, the social action project coordinator for OTR’s Zazi Project.

“The work that our young people are involved in within our communities sometimes go unnoticed, it does not get the spotlight it needs – we want to change that. We want to hear from you as a members of the community to understand who you think deserves to be named on this list!”

Do you know someone aged between 11-25 whose works deserve to be celebrated? Nominate them here before September 20.
