Nook

“I have just discovered Nook on North Street in Bedminster and it’s amazing. Aussie-influenced healthy, wholesome juices, smoothies and poke bow. All superb and coffee off the charts too. Staff are brilliant. I’ve had to force myself to leave and stop ordering whenever I visit!”

Double Puc

“For a work meeting (or not!) I find it hard to beat Double Puc. Ilove the coffee and freshly cooked cookies. It still feels like they old great vibes of Friska days in there. And the staff are all brilliant.”

The Cadbury

The Cadbury is a favourite spot for beers after Tuesday night five-a-side. A legendary, cavernous old pub with good beers, food and a cosy beer garden.”

The Louisiana

The Louisiana never disappoints for a for an intimate live gig. Been in so many times without even looking at what’s on and always stunned by quality. Most recently it was Wilderman.

Narroways

Narroways is known locally as ‘the mound’ – photo: Martin Booth

“I’ve really come to appreciate Narroways, a small, ridged area of woods, shrub and grass in the heart of St Werburgh’s. It’s perfect for a short dog walk, a mini-adventure with my three-year-old or a quiet drink at sunset up on the top bench. More importantly it’s home to a decent slice of biodiversity in the midst of the city.”
