My Bristol Favourites: Marta Zubieta
Marta Zubieta is an artist specialising in illustration, graphic design and murals.
Marta’s art is inspired by 90s cartoons, sci-fi, lowbrow, pop surrealist art and Latin folklore, and has worked with organisations including Glastonbury Festival, Google, Visit Bristol and Pizzarova.
The Spanish-born artist’s latest collaboration is with Bristol community car sharing app Karshare to design an exclusive car sticker for members.

Conham River Park

“I love to go to Conham River Park on a warm day. It’s great to swim in the river, have a barbecue with friends, and it feels like a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

“If you’re looking for the best mojitos in town, Cafe Cuba is your place. It truly transports you to the heart of Latin food, atmosphere and culture. I highly recommend the ropa vieja and the calamaris.”
Jazz Jams at St Agnes Park

“St Agnes Park is a lovely, leafy park and if you’re lucky, you’ll be treated to a live Jazz Jams performance. They spontaneously appear and are such a breath of fresh air in these difficult times when live music is struggling the most. When I come across them I sit and take the time to enjoy the performance – and please, don’t forget to donate!”
Arnos Vale Cemetery

“Although it may sound strange to say a cemetery is one of my favourite places, Arnos Vale a beautiful place to walk and I find it always helps me to find clarity and inspiration. I love the theatre often performed in one of the small chapels and I’m looking forward for them to start happening again.”
Worm Disco Club events

“Before lockdown, I never missed a Worm Disco Club event; born out of the desire to bring diversity under one roof and celebrate collective togetherness. World music underground gigs and multicultural crowds made the best of my nights in Bristol. Now they are starting to play again so if you have the opportunity to see them don’t doubt it for a second – they are always fantastic!”
