My Bristol Favourites: Katie Ebbs
Katie Ebbs is a florist at Roots Floral Designs on Broad Quay whose new side hustle, Bracken, will be bringing untamed florals to markets across Bristol.
Bracken is officially launching on April 25 when Katie will be teaming up with Small Street Espresso to sell seasonal flowers from the cafe alongside Small Street’s award-winning coffee.
These are Katie’s top five Bristol favourites:
Whiteladies Road Market

“Like any good millennial, a weekend morning isn’t spent right unless it’s at a market picking up coffee, artisan pastries and locally-grown veg. At Whiteladies Road Market, you can tuck in to world class pastry from Farro or head to the same site when the market isn’t taking place for world class pastry from Hilda.”
Small Street Espresso

“Tucked just off Corn Street in the Old City is Bristol’s OG speciality coffee shop. Small Street Espresso is always brewing something interesting and if you get there early enough you might get your hands on a Hart’s pastry!”
University of Bristol Botanic Garden

“The glasshouses at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden in Stoke Bishop are bursting with fantastic specimens. With plants of all shapes, sizes and textures, it’s a feast for the senses. Cute little cafe too!”
Bristol Ferry

“Guaranteed to make any mundane day in to an adventure. I love any excuse to ride on a blue and yellow Bristol Ferry, wind in my hair, gliding over the water. Bonus points: you can end up at Underfall Yard where you can grab a great breakfast sandwich while watching cormorants dry their wings and boat builders fixing up their crafts.”
Riverside Garden Centre

“Riverside Garden Centre in Southville has a fantastic selection of plants, both indoor and outdoors, bulbs, seeds and tools. I love the ever changing seasonal displays they create. It’s handily close to my allotment and I find any reason to pop over pick up something new to try and grow and, you guessed it, head to the cafe for a coffee and cake!”
