My Bristol Favourites: Julian Grant

By Bristol24/7  Friday Nov 20, 2015

Julian Grant is part of the customer service team at the Colston Hall, helping concert-goers find the best seats in which to see their favourite shows or advising on what’s the hot ticket this month. Born and raised in St Paul’s, Julian started at the Colston Hall as an apprentice four years ago, before becoming a permanent box office assistant.

Here are Julian’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Al Bacio

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Al Bacio in Clifton has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol. Whether you want a quick bite after work or are planning a weekend date night, Al Bacio represents sensational Italian food with great ambiance at reasonable prices. Make a reservation though – this place gets very busy.”

Be At One

“My go-to for the casual drink or two is Be At One on the Triangle. It has the largest cocktail menu I have ever seen so you are bound to find something new to try. With a late licence and a nice vibe, the friendly bartenders appear to enjoy making the cocktails as much as the person drinking them. If you’re feeling flush, go check it out.”

Dundry

Bristol From Dundry Tower

“Dundry is a small village just on the outskirts of Bristol that has some of most breathtaking, panoramic views across the city. If you can navigate to the view point it’s well worth the journey. Look out towards the Suspension Bridge, have a picnic, and drink it in. Don’t forget a camera!”

Colston Hall

Colston Hall is one of the largest most diverse concert venues in Bristol, with a wide range of performances including classical concerts, comedy, jazz and dance, and loads more. So it has something to appeal to pretty much everyone – what’s not to love? It’s also a great place to work. Built in 1867, the Hall hasn’t had a major refurbishment since 1951, but with a huge £45 million transformation plan on the cards, Colston Hall is looking to the future more than ever.”

Cabot Circus

Cabot Circus has everything you need in one shopping complex with over three floors of shops and restaurants to eat. Oh, and a large cinema. If you just need five minutes to sit down and check your emails, Starbucks on the top floor is a cosy spot.”
