My Bristol Favourites: Femme Rouge
Georgia Luckhurst, aka Femme Rouge, is a DJ making a growing name for herself in Bristol’s bass music scene with her passion for garage, trance, drum’n’bass, jungle and all things 4×4.
A resident for organisations including ALICE Project, known for its platform promoting gender equality, Femme Rouge continues to champion women in bass music.
She has played at Bristol Pride and at venues including Motion, Loco Klub and Lakota; sharing the stage with acts such as Higgo, Hamdi and Mungo’s HiFi.
These are Femme Rouge’s top-five Bristol favourites:
The Canteen

“The Canteen on Stokes Croft has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Bristol, thanks to its diverse lineup of events. Whether you’re after a chilled drink with your friends or a dance, there’s always something fun happening. I was so proud to perform here for Bristol Pride 2025 with ALICE Project, an incredible brand I’m lucky to be a resident DJ with.”
Pirate Studios

“There’s no better place to meet up with your friends than at Pirate Studios in Lawrence Hill. The vibe is always welcoming and the space is designed for creativity. With their club-standard decks and professional setup, it’s the perfect spot to link up for a mix and experiment with new sounds, especially when preparing for a gig.”
Brandon Hill

“I love escaping to Brandon Hill for a peaceful walk whenever I need a break from the busyness of the city. The views from the top are some of the best in Bristol. In the summer, it becomes an ideal spot to chill on the grass with friends and I’m obsessed with squirrels. There are so many of them darting around which makes me so happy. It’s one of those little pockets of nature within the city that always lifts my mood.”
The Old Market Assembly

“I’ve celebrated so many birthdays here that it’s basically become tradition at this point. One of my good friends, Moi Sánchez, is the head chef at the Old Market Assembly and his food is unreal. It’s my favourite place in Bristol to get pizza. Beyond the food, the whole venue has a warm and lively atmosphere, with a great variety of events happening throughout the year. There is also the Wardrobe Theatre here, which is super cute and always puts on quirky and creative shows.”
The Loco Klub

“The Loco Klub is such a unique arts venue, tucked in the historic railway arches beneath Temple Meads. It’s by far my favourite club to have played at. I held my 30th birthday here with my friends’ brand Temple Dance Collective hosting. This venue is especially important to me because of its commitment to inclusivity for marginalised communities, particularly the queer community. Loco Klub also places a huge emphasis on community, creativity and self-expression, making it a truly special space to experience.”
