Woman rescued from Clifton fire
One woman was rescued from the window of a flat in Clifton where a fire took hold on the ground floor.
Five fire crews were called to a three-storey house converted into flats on Oakfield Road at about 6.30am on Wednesday morning.
An Avon Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “High pressure hose reels and a water jet were used to tackle the fire on the ground floor of the property. The fire caused extensive damage to one flat, with smoke affecting basement and first floor properties.”

Oakfield Road was closed for much of the morning as crews took part in a full search of the building to confirm no one else had been injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
