‘Wolf pack’ protest comes to Bristol
Protesters assembled on College Green on Saturday, mirroring scenes happening across Spain after five men were cleared of rape.
Thousands of people have already turned out in Spanish towns and cities after the men, who called themselves the Wolf Pack, were found guilty of sexual abuse, which many consider too lenient.
The case has caused a national outcry after the victim, then 18, was assaulted at the famous bull-running festival in Pamplona.

Miriam Munoyerro, a teaching assistant at the University of Bristol, was one of the protesters on College Green in a protest that had been organised in less than 24 hours.
She said: “We have been quiet for a long time so this was a way to speak up. My presence there was very important. It’s amazing that the victims need to explain themselves.
“This protest was only organised the day before. To see such a group of people was so great. And to see men and women as well means that things are changing.”
She added: “The sentence needed to set an example, but it let down the whole Spanish society. Hopefully, they will be sentenced to a more suitable punishment when the appeal is reviewed.”
The five men – José Ángel Prenda, Alfonso Cabezuelo, Antonio Manuel Guerrero, Jesús Escudero and Ángel Boza – were each sentenced to nine years in prison.
Prosecutors had asked for sentences of more than 20 years.
