Walking in a Window Wanderland

Three different locations in Bristol are all set to light up the end of February with a magical Winter Wonderland this weekend.

The events in Southville, Ashton and Bedminster; Chandos Road in Redland; and Windmill Hill and Victoria Park are community-led projects inviting home-owners to embrace their creativity and transform their windows in to bright galleries. Houses are then added to a walking trail for everyone to enjoy.

First launched in 2015 by Lucy Reeves Khan, the inspiration for the project came from Lucy’s own experience. As a stay-at-home mother with chronic back pain, Lucy found happiness in evening walks past the bright windows of surrounding homes.

Making a display for the event is as simple as signing up to add your home to the trail, but the trails are open to everyone.

  • Southville, Ashton & Bedminster – Sat 27, Sun 28 and Mon 29, 6pm – 9pm
  • Chandos Road – Sat 27 & Sun 28, 6pm to 9pm
  • Windmill Hill & Victoria Park – Sun 28 & Mon 29, 6pm to 9pm
