Three men injured following assault in Bristol city centre

By Ellie Pipe  Wednesday Jun 26, 2019

Blood stained the ground in Broad Quay on Wednesday following a serious assault in the early hours of the morning.

Police say three men were injured in the incident, one of whom has been arrested.

The area remained cordoned off throughout the morning as forensics teams worked at the scene.

A 20-year-old man sustained facial injuries in the assault and an 18-year-old suffered more serious wounds, which officers say are not believed to be life-changing. Both are being treated in hospital.

The third man, a 30-year-old from Winterbourne was arrested and treated in hospital for injuries to his hand. He has now been released back to police custody.

A police spokesperson said officers are investigating the assault, which resulted in grievous bodily harm, and took place in Broad Quay at around 3.40am on Wednesday.

The cordon is expected to remain in place “for the time being”.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact police by calling 101 quoting reference number 5219143275, or via the website.
