Ped Asgarian becomes new director of Feeding Bristol

The new director of Feeding Bristol joins at a key time given the attention that there has been on food insecurity in recent months as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ped Asgarian will lead the charity as it continues to play a critical role is establishing a resilient food system across the city.

It also remains committed to working to achieve its overall long term vision where everyone in Bristol has access to nutritious and affordable food, and has the skills, knowledge and are empowered to eat healthily.

“I have always worked in the food sector, and have become a passionate advocate and ambassador for changing our food system to one that is fair for people, producers and the environment,” said Asgarian, who was previously managing director of The Community Farm in the Chew Valley.

“Good, healthy food should be accessible to all, regardless of wealth, age or race. As a society, and as businesses, we need to be working harder to stamp out food desserts, food inequality and insecurity.”

Chair of Feeding Bristol, Andy Street, added: “We are delighted to have Ped joining us as director of Feeding Bristol.

“He brings a wealth of practical and commercial knowledge, and is already well connected with key stakeholders across the region.”
