More than 2,000 partygoers attend illegal rave in warehouse
More than 2,000 people are estimated to have attended a rave on Saturday night in a disused warehouse in Avonmouth.
The event carried on until Sunday afternoon, with police officers atempting to prevent any more partygoers from entering the building on Burcott Road.
Five people aged between 18 and 30 who police suspected of helping to organise the event arrested on suspicion of burglary, with three people arrested for other offences.
Avon & Somerset Police detective inspector Darren Lipscomb, said: “We have made a number of arrests of people who we believe have travelled vast distances and are suspected of being involved in the organising of this event. Enquiries are ongoing.
“Approximately 20 to 30 people remained at the site until the music was switched off shortly after noon and the site was cleared.
“We are in contact with the building owner and the property has been secured to prevent further incidents.”
