Man hospitalised after early morning attack
A man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition after being attacked on Saturday morning.
The incident happened on Ashley Road in St Paul’s outside the former Criterion pub, where a police cordon has been in place for much of the day.
Police were called at around 5.30am by the ambulance service following a report of a man who had been assaulted.
An Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Members of the public can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area today and anyone with any concerns is encouraged to speak to their Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“If you were in the area from 5am and witnessed anything suspicious, or have relevant footage which could aid our enquiries, call us.
