‘Machete attack’ at Tesco in Eastville
Terrified shoppers ran screaming from Tesco in Eastville on Friday evening in a stabbing that left two men with serious injuries.
Unconfirmed reports are that the weapon used in the attack at around 6.30pm was a samurai sword or machete.
One man was arrested in what police called an “isolated incident”, with police cars and ambulances arriving at the scene and the supermarket closed for the rest of the night.

“Adrenaline is still pumping for me, dropping my shopping basket and running with a crowd was surreal,” Alexandra Dimmock wrote on Twitter.
She added: “Incident involving a machete. I thought a flash mob was underway as people running in all directions. Tesco staff superb in a crisis.”
