Hundreds of homes could be built on site of former garage

By Martin Booth  Monday Dec 20, 2021

Around 400 new homes could be built on a former Peugeot dealership close to Bristol Temple Meads.

The site in Redcliffe has been identified for redevelopment as part of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, which encompasses much of Temple Quarter and St Philip’s Marsh.

Bristol mayor Marvin Rees calls the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone a “transformative” scheme.

The former Robins & Day Peugeot dealership on Clarence Road has been purchased by Dandara Living, who are also part of the consortium developing Bedminster Green.

Dandara Living’s senior development manager, Zoe Sharpe, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have acquired this brownfield site and look forward to sharing our draft plans with the community at some point in the first few months of 2022.

“We are fully committed to investing in Bristol… If we secure planning permission for our other Bedminster Green scheme – known as ‘plot 5’ – and this new Clarence Road site, we will be building more than 1,000 new homes for the city, helping deliver the mayor’s commitment to 2,000 new homes a year by 2024.”
