Big Jeff set to return to Bristol after being treated in Swansea

By Betty Woolerton  Monday Aug 15, 2022

Big Jeff has confirmed he hopes to return to Bristol soon after being treated at a specialist burns unit in Swansea.

Jeffrey Johns, better known as Big Jeff, sent a message of thanks to the staff at the hospital caring for him after he nearly died in an accidental fire at his house in Totterdown.

The prolific gig-goer told followers on social media he is “still alive” and “still kicking”.

Jeff said: “I’m still here in Morriston Hospital, which is just outside of Swansea, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m still alive, I’m still kicking.”

“The staff here have been doing a wonderful job, the physios have been doing absolute wonders and making sure that I’m able to walk and almost feed myself now, pretty much.

“And I hope to be back in Bristol really soon.”

The recent news has been met with an outpouring of support for the much-loved artist from the city and beyond.
