Anti-Trump protest: take three
Another week in Bristol and another anti-Trump protest. We really don’t like the lying, scaremongering, pussy-grabbing new US president.
What could well be the largest demonstration so far takes place on Saturday, February 4 on a national day of action against the reality TV star turned leader of the free world.
Event organisers Stand Up To Racism Bristol and Bristol Stop the War Coalition are encouraging “the whole of the community” to gather in protest against Trump’s widely criticised new immigration policies in the US as well as his planned state visit to the UK later this year.
is needed now More than ever
The march will begin on Saturday at 12.30pm by the fountains in the centre. Speakers on the day will include councillors Hibaq Jama of Labour and Cleo Lake of the Green Party.

Saturday’s protest follows Monday evening’s demonstration on College Green:

One of the makers of the video, Matt Christey, told Bristol24/7 that he was “blown away by the energy and passion at the protest” and that he and co-directors Hayden Lewis and Elizabeth Mizon were inspired by how many Bristolians took to the streets.
“Even though this is something going on in America, it was clear from the protest that these changes are felt to involve us all,” Matt said.
