£20,000 reward to ‘reignite search efforts’ for missing Jack

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Jun 12, 2024

More than 100 days after Jack O’Sullivan was last seen, his family hope that a £20,000 reward will “help spark new leads and reignite the search efforts” for the missing man.

By Tuesday morning, a crowdfunding page had raised almost £5,000 of the reward money.

If the reward goes unclaimed, all the money raised will be donated to the charity Missing People, or you can ask for your donation to be returned.

“Despite the efforts of the authorities, the investigation has hit a standstill, leaving his family desperate for answers,” says the Go Fund Me page.

“Jack’s parents, Catherine and Alan, and his older brother Ben, have decided that a £20,000 reward for information leading to the discovery of Jack is needed to help spark new leads and reignite the search efforts.

“They need your help to achieve this… Every donation, big or small, may help bring them closer to bringing Jack home.”

The reward comes after Jack’s parents have lodged a formal complaint against Avon & Somerset police over its handling of their son’s disappearance, saying they have lost all faith in officers’ attempts to locate him.

But police say they are “determined to do all that we possibly can to find the answers they so desperately need”.

Twenty-three-year-old Jack, a former pupil at Clifton College, was last seen on the morning of March 2 following a night out with friends in Hotwells.

Having attempted to get a taxi home, he was spotted on CCTV at around 3.40am walking up the Bennett Way slip road close to the Cumberland Basin.

Jack’s phone was still active and placed him at an address at 5.40am in the Granby Hill area, with his phone continuing to be live on the network until 6.44am.

But nothing has been seen or heard of Jack since the early hours of that morning.
