Polls opened at 7am in community centres, schools and libraries across the city for the triple vote which is being called Super Thursday.

All polling booths close at 10pm with a count taking place on Friday and over the weekend.

The new police and crime commissioners is set to be announced on Friday, the mayor on Saturday and the local councillors on Sunday.
