Video: Bristol on a bleak day in ‘2.5D’
A Bristol filmmaker has made a video of the city on a bleak day to counter the barrage of colour he says fills up his social media feed:
“I made the film as my social media feed was filling with short clips and articles talking about Bristol as a place full of colour, art, creativity and inspiration,” Rob Potter told Bristol24/7.
“All of these are pieces accompanied by photos and videos which seem to give off the impression that Bristol is constantly shrouded with sunshine and colour. So I thought I’d capture it on a much more bleak day to show how Bristol is seen the other half of the time.”
The 23-year-old filmmaker from Winterbourne split the photos he took into several layers in Photoshop, recompiled these images in after effects as 3D layers and moved a camera through these to create a parallax or ‘2.5D’ effect.
