MISCHIEF MANAGED: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be gracing the screens of Cinema De Lux, along with more oldies in the coming weeks to boost interest for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

SHORT FILMS AND ANIMATION: Encounters day 3 will include nine themed programmes showing at various times throughout the day. Tickets £6/£5.50 CONC/£4.50 UNDER 25s.

–  The Tribe a brutal Ukrainian youth drama will also be showcased at the Watershed. Rated 18. A Q&A with the director, Miroslav Slaboshpitsky will follow.

MUSICIANS ON THE RUN: 20 venues across Bedminster, 20 bands and musicians, one night. You stay put, the musicians move venues every 15 minutes. 

NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE: A raucous and filthy new production of The Threepenny Opera will be showing at multiple cinemas across Bristol.

GAY PORN: This An explicit documentary about Peter de Rome, known as the grandfather of gay porn, will be showing at The Cube at 8pm. Followed by an undisclosed ‘live performance’. Tickets £5/£4.

THEATRE DOUBLE-BILL: Two one-act plays by the inimitable Caryl Churchill. Heart’s Desire follows a family awaiting their daughter’s return from Australia. Blue Kettle centres on conman Derek and the five women he misleads into believing he is their biological son. Tobacco Factory Theatre. 8pm.

STAND-UP COMEDY: Mark Thomas will be performing his theatrical, journalistic, activist stand up, relating to his fascination with the struggle of the community at Wakefield’s Labour Club from 7.15pm. Tickets £16.50.

EXPLORE THE SOLAR SYSTEM: Discover the universe from the comfort of your seat in At-Bristol’s planetarium– use the latest technology to get close-up views like never before. 7pm & 8.15pm. £8. 

GLOBAL CLIMATE: Artist Thomas Dowdeswell presents a series of paintings and an installation critiquing the current global climate and continual threat of terror at It’s all 2 much. The gallery will be open Thurs-Fri 12-5pm & Sat 12-6pm.
