MUSIC vs HOMELESSNESS: A day of live music at the Exchange, with all proceeds going to homeless charity Crisis. Nine acts will be gracing the stage including The Twelve Hour Foundation, Lonely Tourist and Jon K. 2.30pm, £7.50 in advance.
 
STARSHIP TROOPERS: The next in the series of Bristol Sunset Cinema sees giant alien insects enacting limb-slicing, head-ripping, chest-piercing, brain-sucking mayhem at Ashton Court.
 
KEEP MUM: The final part of the Watershed’s All About Almodovar September Sunday brunch season is this screening of the Spanish director’s 1999 film All about My Mother, littered with emotional devastation.
 
 
BUBLE WRAP: Just haven’t met him yet? Well, watch Michael Buble’s 2015 tour at cinemas around Bristol today.
 
MULHOLLAND DRIVE: A murky meditation on identity, murder and the movie industry by director David Lynch at the Cube. £5. 
 
WICKER MAN: ‘Pagan-headed ushers’, wicker-weaving witches and naked frolickers at this free alfresco screening of The Wicker Man at Boiling Wells Amphitheatre.
 
ART TRAIL: Also in St Werburgh’s will be a second day of free exhibitions, workshops and musical performances. 
 
INSTANT DREAMS: Kingfisher Cafe puts on work from two Instant Film artists living in and around the South West. 9am – 4pm.

MARY PRICE: Bristol-based Expressionist artist shows recent paintings inspired by “random wandering around narrow streets in cities in Spain and Portugal”. Tobacco Factory Bar,  10am – 11pm.
 
ART OF THE IMPROVISERS: Eight days of abstract painting, improvised music and fortune-telling from artists Dan Hunt, Vic Coombes, Naomi Greeves, Barnabas Y and Don Mandarin. Centrespace Gallery, 12-6pm.
 
HALF MARATHON: More than 10,000 runners will take to Bristol’s streets for the Great Bristol Half Marathon.

 

CHANDOS FESTIVAL: Live music, a children’s choir, performances and lots of local food and drink.
BALL CHASE: Race brightly coloured balls down Bridge Valley Road and raise money for charity.
 
ISY SUTTIE: Dobby from Peep Show talks about realising your friends have grown up without you at the Hen & Chicken. 7.15pm. 
 
 
OPPO COMEDY: Splendid regular Sunday night session returns to Clifton’s cosy Portcullis pub. Usual craic: established and emerging acts trying out new material, flavour generally on the adventurous and playful side of the stand-up spectrum, and £3 gets you in. 
 
SHARP TEETH: Established theatre, storytelling, poetry and music night, now relocated to the Wardrobe Theatre.
