Positive Energy for Bristol
If you’ve not yet heard of Bristol Energy, now’s the time to find out more
It’s definitely getting colder and if you haven’t already turned your heating on, it’s probably on your mind. But how many of us really think about our energy bills? A staggering two thirds of people across the country don’t remember ever switching their energy supplier, and could be spending hundreds of pounds more a year than they need to.
Bristol Energy is a gas and electricity company that is asking Bristol to do things differently. Set up by Bristol City Council to help people spend less on their bills, Bristol Energy’s profits will be invested back into Bristol. So you can pay your bill and make a positive difference at the same time – a rare thing!
And to help support its founding city, Bristol Energy is currently offering its cheapest energy deal to people with a Bristol postcode. They are saving people around £240 per year on their bills*.
At the launch, Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees said: “It’s simple, people are paying too much for their energy bills. Now, we’ve got a chance to do something about it. The Council set up Bristol Energy to help people pay less for their gas and electricity, because heating your home and eating a hot meal should not be a luxury.
“It’s also here to help Bristol residents support their city. We all pay our energy bills, but if that money can be reinvested back into local communities to help pay for essential services and support, then the whole of Bristol can benefit.”
