Northern Soul Girl releases album

Winterbourne-born Levanna Mclean is fast becoming the face of a modern northern soul movement, with her face now gracing two compilation albums dedicated to the genre.

The 19-year-old rose to international fame when a YouTube video of her dancing down Staple Hill high street to Pharrell Williams’ Happy got more than 1.6 million views, leading to her joining the artist on stage at last year’s Brit Awards.

Thanks to her successful YouTube channel and clear love of all things soul, she became the face of a compilation album Move On Up earlier this year, and now has her own personal mix of original, funky and northern soul music called Express Your Soul available to buy.
