I Am Acrylic
I Am Acrylic have been making cute and quirky handmade necklaces and brooches since Brendan first made Ruth a fluorescent bird-shaped keyring for her birthday in 2004. Their shop/studio on Christmas Steps is a treasure trove of acrylic jewellery mixed with vintage memorabilia which has inspired much of their design (Ruth has an extensive collection of 80’s drinks cans and Brendan has the Now albums nos. 1-16 on vinyl).

All their designs are individually hand cut on their trusty fretsaw (no laser cutting) and then meticulously hand finished. Their eye-catching designs range from pop-art bright brooches to mountain scene necklaces. Brendan and Ruth have partnered with many galleries to create exclusive jewellery ranges, including a fundraising event at the Southbank Centre when Grayson and Philippa Perry wore their designs.
