Learn Japanese in Bristol

By Bristol24/7  Monday Aug 10, 2015

Yu Japanese Language School provide Japanese-language courses for all levels of ability from beginner to advanced. Their students are enthusiastic about learning the language and are also interested in Japanese culture from Karate to Anime.

Students’ ages and backgrounds vary enormously, while classes are conducted in a relaxed and informal atmosphere by highly experienced teachers. Rihae and Yuko have taught Japanese as a foreign language in both universities and schools.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The school’s fifth year begins this coming October. In the beginners’ class, students learn “survival Japanese”, enough for them to enjoy a holiday in Japan. It is always nice if one can speak the language of the country where one visits, even if only a little bit. However, if you have studied Japanese before and would like to continue Yu JLS offer six levels to suit every ability.

Rihae and Yuko also offer courses focused on qualifications like GCSE and JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, demand permitting. They can also offer one-to-one tuition for those requiring more tailored or targeted learning. The school also runs a translation and interpretation service at highly competitive rates.

Courses run Tuesdays and Wednesdays at The Polish Club, St Pauls Road, Clifton, 6.30pm – 8pm and 8pm – 9.30pm, from Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October. For more information visit www.yujls.co.uk or email [email protected]
