Street style: January 2018

Age: 18
Occupation: I’m currently working on a pharmacy as an apprentice while training as a dispenser. I also own a camera drone that shoots in 4k quality, so I like to fly it around Bristol for my own projects, or for private work. Between a nine-to-five job and filming, I like to spend my time socialising while making, producing and recording my own music.
What are you wearing? I got my black jeans from H&M but salt washed them to give a faded look. My jacket was bought in an outlet store in London. My shoes are from JD.
Best thing about Bristol: The diversity of the nightlife. It’s not too big, but there’s so many different types of people and enviroments to indulge and lose yourself in. It’s a very wonderful and inspiring place to live.
Worst thing about Bristol: It’s size. I’ve lived here all my life and as great a city it is, I feel I’ve explored just about everything there it’s to offer.

Age: 31
Occupation: Manager of the RWA Drawing School at the Royal West of England Academy
What are you wearing? The skirt was a mega-bargain from Urban Fox and I feel like a disco ball whenever I wear it! The cardigan is from a charity shop, the polo-neck is a much loved hand-me-down from my auntie Joy, and my feet are never without my Doc Martens.
Best thing about Bristol: Bristol has a certain kind of magnetism and I love the way that people from all over are drawn to the city. I’m a born and bred Bristolian, but I love the fact that my friends include people who grew up here and elsewhere. I’m proud of how welcoming Bristol is and that it is somewhere that so many people can call home.
Worst thing about Bristol: It’s definitely an issue that spreads beyond Bristol, but I find it really depressing to see litter on the streets and pavements. It seems especially sad because in other ways Bristol’s streets are some of the most interesting. There’s so much street art, and various charities and organisations are undertaking creative projects to make the best of the city, like incredible Edible Bristol who plant edible gardens in public palces, or the Street Pockets project led by Sustrans, to name but a few.

What are you wearing? Blazer by Ralph Lauren, a present from my boo. Top from Warehouse. My leggings are from Ebay. My hat is handmade by Walter Wright and boots are preloved – a bargain on Ebay.
Best thing about Bristol: The nature in the city: birds, green parks and foxes.
Worst thing about Bristol: The lack of at least one Calzedonia shop in Bristol.

Age: 28
Occupation: Publisher
What are you wearing? Coat from Zara, jeans from Top Shop and my shoes are from a shop in Berlin. My rings are from Brick Lane (London).
Best thing about Bristol: The architecture of the old churches.
Worst thing about Bristol: I love Bristol but sometimes it’s a bit cold.

Age: 21
Occupation: Makeup artist
What are you wearing? Coat & earrings from Monki. Polo neck from Zara, dotty top from Asos. My jeans are from Top Shop and Dr Martens boots.
Best thing about Bristol: It’s multi-dimensional and creative, and a really strong sense of community! It’s really refreshing having moved from London.
Worst thing about Bristol: I’ve only moved recently so I don’t know yet.

Age: 73
Occupation: Retired
What are you wearing? Coat from Portabella, a shop in Clifton. Skirt from Jigsaw and my shoes are from Fly. Glasses are Issey Miyake.
Best thing about Bristol: Living in the Harbourside, shopping in Clifton and going around by foot everywhere.
Worst thing about Bristol: The litter.
