Reflecting on Talking LGBT+ Bristol during LGBTQ+ History Month 2021

By Lowie Trevena  Tuesday Feb 23, 2021

To mark LGBTQ+ History Month 2021, creative agency Tusko are re-releasing a selection of clips from a film they made with Bristol24/7.

Talking LGBT+ Bristol was released in summer 2018. It debuted at the Watershed and the Arnolfini and was shown at Bristol Pride that year.

The documentary took a look at 100 years of LGBTQ+ history in Bristol and spoke with prominent figures of the city’s LGBTQ+ scene, including Cheryl Morgan and Daryn Carter.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

The five clips released for LGBTQ+ History Month 2021 include discussions on queer history from Dale Wakefield, Lara Lalemi and Donna La Mode.

The interviewees talk specifically about LGBTQ+ history in each short film, with Dale, founder of the Bristol Lesbian and Gay Switchboard, reflecting on the past several decades, Lara, co-founder of Kiki Bristol, looks on what work still needs to be done.
