Welsh Back kiosk’s colourful new lease of life

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Jul 3, 2018

It enjoys one of the most picturesque locations in Bristol and could become a new favourite when it reopens under new owners this summer.

The kiosk on Welsh Back has been taken on by Victoria Holden and Rory McKenna, who will be offering a plant-focused menu with plans for a number of special events in the future.

The pair have already given the small building, which will be known as Kiosk, a colourful makeover prior to their arrival which they are hoping to coincide with the Pride Festival weekend of July 14 and 15.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Victoria is part of the organising team behind Alfresco Disco and has run a few pop-ups in the past.

On offer at Kiosk – set to open initially from Wednesday to Saturday, including until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights – will be the likes of loaded chips, cashew macaroni cheese, power juices and smoothies.

Victoria is keen not to promote Kiosk as vegan – but is passionate about her plant-based menu.

“I really believe in doing something positive for that cause,” she told Bristol24/7. “But I don’t want to preach to people about what they should or should not eat.”

“I want to let people know that plant-based food can be delicious and I can’t wait to help create a really fun space where people can just hang out.”
