Two Bristol women named among CODE Hospitality’s Women of the Year 2025
An acclaimed Bristol chef and an innovative Bristol brewer have been named on a prestigious annual list.
CODE Hospitality’s Women of the Year 2025 “highlights the women who are going above and beyond in their jobs and are making hospitality a better place for all of the people who work in it”.
Bokman and Dongnae chef and co-owner Kyu Jeong Jeon and Good Chemistry director and co-founder Kelly Sidgwick are both on this year’s list of 50 women chosen from more than 1,400 nominations.

Good Chemistry is celebrating a decade in business in 2025, with Sidgwick founding the St Philip’s brewery with Bob Cary and now also having two pubs: the Good Measure on Chandos Road in Redland and the King’s Head on Victoria Street.
In 2021, Sidgwick started She Drinks Beer, a monthly night down the pub for women who enjoy beer; and she has also organised women-only brew days.
CODE says that Sidgwick “challenges the norm for sustainability and inclusivity” and that “her integrity is contagious, not just within her businesses but in the wider industry”.

Kyu Jeong Jeon and her husband Duncan Robertson were voted Chefs to Watch in the 2025 Good Food Guide Awards.
CODE says that this award “reflects the strides they’ve made in Bristol” at their two restaurants, Bokman on Nine Tree Hill off Stokes Croft and Dongnae on Chandos Road in Redland.
Bristol24/7 named Dongnae as our best new Bristol restaurant of 2024, with Tim Hayward in the Financial Times calling it “different, gently inspiring, flat-out delicious”.
