Coffee served from a converted VW campervan
Serving coffee straight out of their eye-catching orange Volkswagen campervan parked on Narrow Quay, Splitstyle is Bristol’s newest and one of its most picturesque spots for a caffeine fix.
Co-owners Sarah and Chris are avid festival volunteers and after a “hellish” eight hour voluntary shift involving emergency CPR they wondered “how can we go from festival to festival and actually enjoy it?” – and Splitstyle came to be.
The campervan itself has a fascinating story. It was made in South Africa in 1975. Sarah and Chris then don’t know what happened until its shell turned up in Zimbabwe, missing wheels and its engine, with a tree through the smashed windscreen.
is needed now More than ever
It was lovingly restored by Zimbabweans and then driven to the UK where it was bought by Chris and Sarah. Two years later, and after 27 failed MOTs, it has a new home in Bristol.

The company’s name, Splitstyle, has various origins: part of the coffee process involves the splitting, the campervan’s screen was split by a tree and both Sarah and Chris love surfing and skateboarding, where the term splitstyle it often used.
The menu is constantly developing as both Chris and Sarah are passionate about coffee and experimenting, with Splitstyle using small Bristol-based roasters such as Triple Co.
For those who aren’t coffee fans, Splitstyle are venturing into cocktails using non-alcohol spirits and they have already started to expand into food with a vegan muesli pot.
