Restaurant hailed by MasterChef judge named among UK’s top chippies
A Bristol-based restaurant, hailed by the Guardian restaurant critic and MasterChef judge Grace Dent as “one of the nicest restaurants in years”, has been named among the top fish and chip restaurants in the UK.
Noah’s has been announced as one of five national finalists in the Restaurant of the Year category at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2026.
The long-running awards, organised by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), celebrate excellence across the industry, recognising restaurants that demonstrate “sustainability, consistent quality and outstanding service”.

From the West Country, only Noah’s and Devon’s Squires Fish Restaurant & Take Away made the cut.
Tucked underneath a flyover on Brunel Lock Road, overlooking the Cumberland Basin, Noah’s is no stranger to accolades and critical acclaim.
The restaurant, which previously impressed the industry stalwart Marco Pierre White, was named the third best chippy in the UK at the same awards in 2024.

Founded by Dan and Joie Rosser in 2023, the restaurant is hoping to go one better this year.
Dan Rosser said: “Reaching the top five in the Fish & Chip Restaurant of the Year category is an amazing achievement for the team, and we’re super proud to get this far.
“Hopefully what we do day in, day out is enough to take the top spot. We’re really looking forward to London in February, whatever the outcome.”
The overall winner will be announced on February 25 2026 at an awards ceremony at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, following anonymous quality checks on food, service and hospitality.

Andrew Crook, president of the NFFF, said: “Having restaurants like these in our towns and cities is essential for keeping our great British tradition alive, and the beauty of the awards process is that it helps chippies maintain and elevate standards.”
