New food pop-up in Emmeline
A new pop-up will be coming to Emmeline.
Sunflower Kitchen will be bringing their ‘pan-mediterranean’ fusion to the Spike Island cafe Friday, April 18.
The chefs developed the idea from a shared love of the food of the region, with a focus on fresh, local and seasonal produce.
is needed now More than ever
“We want the food to be really delicious but not pretentious, beautiful but with substance,” says Phoebe Searle.

“We tongue in cheek call it pan-Medittarean,” says Phoebe on the left
Catering partners Phoebe Searle and Lavinia Hastie have been working together on-and-off for eight years.
Phoebe explains that their partnership began when she started working for Lavinia at “all the music festivals you care to name, slinging delicious burgers!”
She adds, “While the whole world assumes at first glance we’re mother and daughter, we’re just mates with a big age gap. We both just love cooking, eating and having a good time while doing so.”
Phoebe has called Bristol home since 2019. She describes it as her personal mission to sample all the amazing food spots in the city.
“A Sisyphean task,” she adds.

Intimate and cozy dinner set-ups from the Sunflower Kitchen team
On the pop-up, the duo said: “We’re really excited for this pop up as we’ve been wanting to pop up in Bristol for ages and the space is fantastic.
“It’s also a really good excuse to go to Istanbul, a longed for trip!” She chuckles.
The theme is East Meets West, which is a theme she says they love to explore and are hoping to reflect the multicultural vibrancy of Istanbul and its food scene in particular.
“We do lots of weddings and events throughout the south west. The food scene here is second to none.”
