Fed to open fourth cafe in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Thursday Oct 24, 2024

One of Bristol’s best and most popular independent cafes is to open a fourth location.

Fed IV will be on Canford Lane in Westbury-on-Trym, following in the footsteps of their other premises on Gloucester Road, Abbotsford Road in Cotham and Fishponds Road in Fishponds.

Fed’s newest cafe will be occupying what was most recently a wood burning stove shop, and before that a shoe repairs and key cutting business.

Charlotte Hawe and Ross Rawlings opened the first Fed at 303 Gloucester Road in 2018, mistakenly giving some people the impression that their now flourishing business was called Fed 303 (the original Fed is now at number 313).

“We just dreamed one day of having our own place,” Charlotte told Bristol24/7 in 2021, with Charlotte previously the general manager at Boston Tea Party on Gloucester Road before opening Fed just a few doors away.

“We were just absolutely bursting to give it a go ourselves and just really believed in the food that we wanted to share with people.

“We thought it would be well received so we just did it!”
