Burra hits hattrick with new cafe

By Martin Booth  Monday Mar 10, 2025

Bristol’s third Burra is now open in Clifton Village.

Hundreds of free coffees were given out on the cafe’s opening day on Saturday, with Burra co-owner and Bristol Bears first team player Jake Heenan handing out samples to some of the many people in the queue while his wife and cafe co-founder Adele was busy behind the counter.

The latest Burra is on The Mall in the former Bar Chocolat following the success of their two other cafes on Lower Redland Road and on North Street, with another opening and then closing on Gloucester Road.

Burra was founded in February 2021 by Jake and Adele and Luke and Madison Morahan, with the friends and colleagues aiming “to create a hospitality experience in the city that promotes an ethical lifestyle through organic produce and a locally sourced menu”.

Writing on Instagram, the Burra team said: “An incredible welcome on our first day in Clifton Village.

“Thank you to everybody who came out to support in the sunshine.”
