Bristol restaurant named among UK’s top-50
Not content with being named as Bristol24/7’s best new restaurant of 2024, a Korean restaurant in Redland has now been named among the very best in the UK.
Dongnae on Chandos Road has placed 46th in the National Restaurant Awards top-100.
The only other Bristol restaurant on the list was Wilsons, also on Chandos Road.
is needed now More than ever
Wilsons, at number 65th in the National Restaurant Awards roundup, was awarded its first Michelin star in February, with Michelin inspectors praising the restaurant from Jan Ostle and Mary Wilson as an “appealing neighbourhood operation that works in pure harmony”.

Dongnae from Duncan Robertson and Kyu Jeong Jeon – a panellist in the upcoming EatDrink24/7 guide – was also nominated as the national opening of the year, but missed out to Anglo Thai in Marylebone.
Writing on Instagram on Tuesday, the Dongnae team said: “We are honoured and humbled to announce that last night we placed Number 46 of the National Restaurant Awards’ Top 100 list.
“At a wonderful (and lively) ceremony, it was an honour to be listed alongside so many of our friends and industry colleagues in addition to being shortlisted for two awards.
“To be nominated for Opening of The Year and Restaurateur of The Year was incredible – and huge congratulations to the other nominees and the winners.
“Thank you @nationalrestaurantawards, we’re truly grateful (equally for the martinis and champagne). And thank you too to all of you for your support. It means so much to us.”
