Bistro closes within four months of opening
A French bistro that opened in May is now closed indefinitely, citing a lack of “right commitment and consistency” as reasons.
Chef Oakan Brousse opened La Brousse on St Nicholas Street, just a few doors down from the Library, where he previously headed up the kitchen. The French venture replaced the team’s former venue, Asian BBQ & Hopot.
The bistro, which promised “Parisian charm in every bit”, announced its closure on Sunday through an Instagram story.
is needed now More than ever
A pop-up on the restaurant’s website confirms La Brousse’s closure in its “current form” and hints at a “new chapter” ahead.
In the Instagram story, the team wrote: “With heavy hearts, we have made the decision to close La Brousse indefinitely.
“As a small independent cafe, every member of the team plays a vital role. Without the right commitment and consistency in the kitchen, we cannot deliver the standard of food and service you deserve.
“We are incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us during our short journey. This is not the end of our passion for hospitality – only a pause while we realign our vision.
“Thank you to everyone who dined with us and believed in La Brousse. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future, in a form worthy of your trust.”
