Skating on thin ice in Clifton Village

Arabesques have replaced antiques and beers have replaced baby grows in a new ice rink opened on a former parade of shops in the heart of Clifton Village.

Clifton On Ice, open from today until January 4 on Clifton Down Road, features an ice rink on top of shops that were previously the likes of JoJo Maman Bebe and WHSmith, with an indoor element of the rink taking in what used to be Atlas Interiors.

In the apres skate bar, drinks are provided by Bath Ales’ Beerd brewery with “posh dogs” for the Clifton clientele.

Come the new year, the ice rink will be replaced by a new development from That Group featuring flats above shops including a Sainsbury’s.
