Windmill Hill City Farm to host family-friendly summer programme

By Sarski Anderson  Wednesday Jun 24, 2026

Tucked at the back of Windmill Hill City Farm, The Garden Theatre has been entertaining audiences since its launch in 2023.

Its intimate outdoor setting offers a relaxed environment for performance which is especially well-suited to family-friendly shows.

Over the summer of 2026, the venue has announced a busy programme of theatre and performance that begins with a Little Folk gig from Tidal Tales on June 28.

At the end of July, Mr Brown’s Pig presents The Woodland Puppet Show in the unique space, promising “whimsy, laughter and woodland creatures brought to life”.

A show combining storytelling and science, Fungi Frida and the Myco Heroes will visit the theatre on August 6, with family favourites The Wind in the Willows, Peter Rabbit and Treasure Island following later in the month.

“Whether you come for a puppet show, a folk gig, or a classic tale, The Garden Theatre offers a beautiful way to spend time together this summer”, the curators say.

“Pair a performance with a wander around the gardens, a visit to the animals, or a treat from the café, and you’ve got the ingredients for a perfect day out.”
