Revived music venue announces planned reopening date
A music venue that announced its resurrection in May has now shared further details about its much-anticipated return.
In an Instagram post, the Croft announced that it had “secured a short-term deal with the current landlord,” enabling the team to go ahead with their planned opening date of September 12.
However, they made it clear that the work is far from over.

To secure the longevity of the grassroots music scene, it was announced as one of seven sites to be included in the Own Our Venues initiative led by Music Venue Properties.
The initiative aims to remove music venues like the Croft from temporary, unstable leases by placing them into community ownership.
Originally opened in 2000, the Croft quickly became a popular addition to Bristol’s underground scene. Years later, the venue that hosted artists like IDLES, Arctic Monkeys, Ed Sheeran and Bring Me the Horizon, changed its name to the Crofter’s Rights, which abruptly shut down in August 2024.
The efforts to restore the music venue are being led by World Famous Dive Bars, Exchange, Music Venue Trust and Music Venue Properties.
