Punks go head-to-head in autumn clash
Bristol is going full punk to celebrate the start of autumn.
Hardcore fans can start filling their ears with noise before lunch on Saturday and not stop until long after dark.
The Punks Against Thieves fundraiser brings bands to the M32 Skatepark on Stapleton Road for a free party that kicks off at midday.

The gig, featuring nine acts described variously as Russian post punk, trashy dadrock, adhd punk, ska, pop-punk and drunk, is raising money to replace equipment that was stolen from Alpha Delta recording studio and rehearsal rooms in Lawrence Hill that specialises in punk, hardcore and metal music.
While the gig is free, organisers are asking for donations to support the studio. For punk fans that can’t make the event, another fundraiser is planned for October 11 at the Chelsea Inn in Easton with local favourites Pizza Tramp headlining and Elk, Hag Reflex and more on the bill.

Down the road at the bottom of Old Market, cooperative-owned grassroots favourite the Exchange hosts Attitude Festival which also opens doors at noon and runs through until the respectable hour of 10pm, allowing mosh-fresh attendees to jump on a bus or train home.
The “purveyors of ground-breaking alt-punk music” are celebrating their fifth birthday with a nine-hour lineup that includes Glasgow turbo-punks Soapbox, Belfast riot-girls Jock and local own pop punk rockers Eton Mess.

SNAYX headline the main room and Loose Articles head up the basement stage, while “punk’s answer to ABBA,” congratulations, are an intriguing prospect.
There’s also a special secret guest band joining the show at 3pm.
“The secret act has played the festival before, they are veterans in the underground punk scene and are well-known for their hilarious stage presence and of course, their attitude,” teases director Marcus Osborne. “They will be joining Murderers Are Optimists during their set, so the adept among you should be able to figure it out with a little research!”
