Jazz and Blues Festival announce collaboration with Worm Disco Club

By Amy Grace  Thursday Dec 19, 2019

Now in its eighth year, the Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival presents an immense line-up of acts for this years festivities. It will be centered around Park Street; hosting intimate concerts at St. George’s, a variety of blues and traditional jazz at The Folk House, and a Bond bonanza at the O2 Academy.

As if the line-up wasn’t tempting enough, they’ve only gone and joined forces with Worm Disco Club to present an unmissable line-up of acts. Taking place at Fiddlers the two day extravaganza will feature live bands and DJ’s, with the first acts already being announced.

Worm Disco Club will be working alongside the Jazz and Blues Festival

On Saturday we’ll see Emma-Jean Thackray will take the stage, after supporting Nubya Garcia at Fiddlers last year, I’m sure she’ll be delighted to return back to Bristol to deliver an enigmatic set with heavy percussion and down-tempo beats.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Joining her will be corto.alto, an 8-piece Glaswegian outfit that combine jazz, neo-soul and hip hop into their funky fresh sets. Following in their footsteps – quite literally, as they’re also from Glasgow – will be AKU!, a powerful trio consisting of saxophone, trombone and drums. Think Moon Hooch meets Death Grips.

Closing the night will be DJ Rebecca Vasmant, who is also from Glasgow, there must be something in the water there. Rebecca will be providing grooves until the early morn and delivering a jazz fueled set.
