Bristol Sounds 2026: Fourth headliner plays as part of sold-out tour
Next year’s Bristol Sounds is shaping up to be a festival of one-off shows and milestone moments.
The latest addition to the lineup is a band that is touring for the first time in a decade, with all 30,000 tickets of their nine-date tour selling out in just hours.
Super Furry Animals last played in Bristol in 2016. Their Lloyds Amphitheatre show on Wednesday, June 24 will the tenth date in their 2026 tour that takes in venues across the UK and Ireland in May.
The off-kilter indie-psych outfit from Wales, which has grown a significant and loyal following since inception in 1993, has nine Top 25 charting albums under its belt and was called “one of the most imaginative bands of our time” by Billboard.
The show – currently the only festival appearance announced by the Furries – is set to be a standout event, with two quality acts in support.
Opener Welsh/Cornish alt-folk artist Gwenno won the Welsh Music Prize in 2015 and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2022.

Also on the lineup is Getdown Services, the Bristol duo that is taking the music world by storm with their irreverent garage-punk that centres tongue-in-cheek social commentary.
It will be another opportunity for local fans to see the hometown band-on-the-rise following their two dates at Trinity Centre in January 2026 swiftly selling out on ticket release.
