National recognition for Bristol company behind pregnancy survival kits

By Ellie Pipe  Wednesday Oct 3, 2018

A working mum and entrepreneur from Bristol has gained national recognition for her innovative business, creating survival kits for pregnant women.

Ruth Morris developed and launched Baboo Box from her Eastville home, in partnership with her sister, Jessica, each drawing on their own experiences to curate unique, hand packaged gift boxes.

The successful product has been featured in Tatler Magazine and won a WOW (Women on Wednesday) award, launched by British businesswoman Jacqueline Gold CBE to celebrate female entrepreneurs.

The idea for Baboo Box was borne out of a recognition that while pregnancy can be a magical time, it can also be a difficult one.

Each box is carefully curated

The sisters set out to create a tailored ‘survival kit’ for women and have developed a hand-packaged gift box for each trimester, and one post birth, containing everything expectant mums might need to make their journey an easier one.

Ruth and Jess pooled their skills to launch the company and are overjoyed at its success and the recognition it has received. Each box contains pregnancy safe products, useful items and a sprinkling of fun.

Jacqueline Gold says: “Baboo Box caters to expectant mothers, providing both goodies and essentials for mothers during pregnancy in the form of one brilliant box for each trimester.

“Ruth and Jess both bring their own talents to the company, complimenting each other and making this business go from strength to strength. I wish them every success in the future.

“For me, #WOW is all about inspiring and celebrating female entrepreneurs. My vision is for women in the UK to come together, celebrate their strengths, skills and fantastic businesses, and do all that they can to inspire other women to realise their potential.”
